This piece started as a simple little piano melody. I started working on it back in February.

Each day I would hop over to my Juno 6 for an hour or so and stare out the window at my neighbor's brick wall. Little by little this tune presented itself to me.

Version 1 was recorded with my good friends Steve Stoll and Michael Goldstein playing the accompaniment part on synthesizer and nylon string guitar. I added in the melody with another synthesizer + some rain sounds I had recorded back in December. (The rain sounds were recorded back home in Washington state--yep real Washington rain--the best rain)

It came out pretty well but I had the sound of a flute in my head the whole time...

So I sent Zac Colwell the track and lo and behold and he learned the tune and sent me back an incredible version with real piano and flute. And I absolutely love it.
